Trinity College launched the Gould Prize for Essays in English Literature in 2013. This is an annual competition for Year 12 or Lower 6th students. The Prize has been established from a bequest made by Dr Dennis Gould in 2004 for the furtherance of education in English Literature. This Essay Prize has the following aims. First, to encourage talented students with an interest in English.
The Philosophy Essay Prize is open to Year 12 or Lower 6th students. The aim of the Prize is to encourage able sixth formers to pursue their interest in Philosophy, with the hope that they will be encouraged to read this or related subjects at University. The titles for the 2020 Philosophy Essay Prize competition are as follows.
The final psychology AS-Level Essay Competition for sixth-form students took place in 2013. There are currently no plans to reinstate the competition. The Department uses other methods of outreach, such as open days (for information, please see the Cambridge Open Days page).

Call for submissions is now open! The British Society for the History of Mathematics is pleased to invite submissions for its 2020 undergraduate essay prize. The essay may be on any topic within the history of mathematics and should be no more than 2500 words in length (excluding references). The competition is open to any person who is enrolled as an undergraduate in a UK or Irish university.
